Are You Ready for Christmas? To be prepared for Christmas, find out as much about it as you can.
Santa says, "Yes, its REALLY cold here. In fact we dont go outside much these last few weeks because it is SO very cold! You might not know this, but the sun doesnt shine up here in the winter, and during the summer, the sun never sets. So every year we get a couple months of no nights, and a couple months of no days. During the months when there is no sunlight the temperature outside really starts to drop. We try to stay inside where it's warm and cozy as much as possible."
"Santa Claus" is believed to have his historical roots in the person of Saint Nicholas, the bishop of Myra. Find out more about Saint Nicholas. Is there really a Santa Claus? Read Virginia's letter to the "Post" and the response she received.
Very few of us can imagine the holiday season without the beautiful poinsettia plant. These lovely red plants are native to Mexico and tropical regions and can grow as tall as ten feet tall. The variety most of us know is the hybrid which is bushy and grows 12 to 24 inches tall. Their name means "Flower of Christmas Eve". The mistletoe is another plant associated with Xmas. Find out why? Further information for parents available here.
